Procedure to follow for request a grant to Andorran civic organizations that carry out international cooperation projectes

Grants are awarded to civic associations that are legally established in the country and to other actors that carry out their international cooperation and social development activities in developing countries through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and that fulfill with the conditions described in the Master Plan of cooperation. Civil society can request grants through two channels: the annual call for subsidies up to 40.000 € for important projects; and, on the other hand, grants up to 7.500 € for smaller projects can be requested at any moment.
Finally, the Government of Andorra also grants, up to 3.000 €, projects promoting the international solidarity and an engaged society through cultural and educational exchanges. Some examples could be, among others, public activities of artistic and cultural exchange or activities in educational institutions.
Who can request a grant?
Civic associations are legally constituted non-profit organizations that have full legal and operational ability, and the statutory purpose of which is to carry out international development cooperation activities. They must be based in the Principality of Andorra and be registered in the Andorran Government's register of Associations.
How can a grant be requested?
Grants up to 7.500 € can be requested at any moment. The documentation to be submitted is the same as for higher grants. A simplified description of the project can be accepted and it will not be necessary to joint the Annex II included in the Master plan.
Grants up to 3.000 € for education for development and awareness raising projects can be requested at any moment. The documentation to be submitted is detailed in the Master plan
Grants higher than 7.500 € should be requested during the Ministry’s call for grants. The request should be completed with the documentation listed in the Master plan of Andorran Cooperation.
How grants are awarded
To ensure impartiality and tighten the awarding procedure of the Government, a scoring system has been established through an awarding scale.
The scale allows us to determine a funding rate according to the characteristics of the project with regard to the criteria established by the Master plan.
The grant of the Government of Andorra can not exceed the 70% of the total cost of the project. This percentage has to take into account other grants awarded from other ministries.
